ABOUT THE SOCIETY

The Society for Paper Publication at Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam, is dedicated to cultivating a culture of rigorous academic inquiry and excellence in legal research. It provides a structured environment for students to refine their writing, analytical, and research skills, enabling them to produce high-quality legal papers that contribute meaningfully to contemporary legal debates. By organizing workshops, seminars, and peer-review sessions, the Society encourages students to actively participate in the academic community, fostering critical thinking and a deeper understanding of complex legal issues. Additionally, it offers mentorship opportunities, connecting students with experienced faculty and scholars to guide them in the process of publication. Through its initiatives, the Society aims to elevate the standard of student publications and contribute to the broader legal scholarship.

Vision and Mission:

  1. To foster a culture of research and scholarly writing among students through continuous training and mentorship.
  2. To encourage collaboration between students, faculty, and external scholars for the creation of high-quality legal publications.
  3. To provide resources, workshops, and seminars to enhance the research capabilities of the students.
  4. To support students in getting their research published.

Objectives:

  1. To organize regular workshops and training sessions focused on academic writing, research methodology, and legal publication.
  2. To facilitate peer-review and faculty guidance to help students improve the quality of their legal research papers.
  3. To provide a platform for students to present their research findings and engage in scholarly discussions.
  4. To promote the publication of student-authored papers in both university journals and external legal publications.

RECENT EVENTS

  • Orientation Session for the first-year batch.
    As part of the 2024-25 academic year, the Society for Paper Publication (SFPP) hosted a successful Orientation Session for DSNLU students, welcoming the new first-year batch. The session introduced students to the importance of academic writing, research opportunities, and publication, aiming to cultivate their interest in legal scholarship. Faculty members and senior students shared insights on the role of the Society in enhancing research skills and academic discourse, setting a strong foundation for the year ahead.
  • The first edition of DSNLJ
    The Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law Journal (DSNLJ) is a annual, student-edited, peer-reviewed journal published by the Society for Paper Publications at DSNLU. Focused on promoting legal scholarship, DSNLJ aims to provide high-quality research contributions. The featured articles in the first edition of the journal explore the complexities surrounding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), analyzing its potential for legal reform, gender justice, and socio-religious challenges in India.
  • The Second edition of DSNLJ
    The second edition of the Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law Journal (DSNLJ) explores key legal issues in technology. The edition addresses the key topics pertaining to data privacy, the Consumer Protection Act 2019 alongside the IT Act 2000, and AI’s role in arbitration. Additionally, it covers Central Bank Digital Currency, regulatory gaps in equity crowdfunding, and rising cybercrimes linked to digital transactions. The edition offers timely insights for legal scholars and professionals.
